Two new broodmares imported
from Ireland The four years old mare Knockferry Snow Flake, a daughter of Curraghmore Cashel, who has won in Ireland at various occasions, he wasbesides others Supreme Champion in Clifden 2009, and many more Championships for example also Royal Dublin Show) and also his offspring is very successfully shown inhand. Snowflake's dam Morning Blossom has already two licensed stallion sons and brought also already a winning filly foal in Clifden. Snow Flake herself was at her first show in 2011 not only Classwinner but also Confined Champion at Spiddal Show, she is a very impressive mare with lots of type, bone and nice, flowing movements. We are very happy that we could bring this quality mare over to Germany. Snow Flake is in foal by Too Much Melody, Too Much is a young, very promising maternal halfbrother (out of the famous mare Equinoxe Melody) of I Love You Melody, who has brought very successful performance ponies in Ireland, his Sire is the english bred stallion Cocum Thunder Boy. With her came to us at Sternberg Stud the eight years old mare Shanna Lady, who had already brought very good foals in Ireland, under them a stallion prospect by our stallion Skousboe Morning Rock. Shanna Lady is a typey, sporty mare, her sire Monaghanstown Fred is also sire of many successful sportsponies, besides others the european gold medalist Ballyowen Maybel Molly is a daughter of Monaghanstown Fred. Also on the motherside Shanna Lady comes from exciting bloodlines bred to jump, a fullsister of the dam, Blackmoor Saoirse was a Grade A showjumper in Sweden and dam's sire Ashfield Bobby Sparrow is wellknown for his performance qualities with connemara pony breeders. Lady is in foal by Dunnally Lad, a son of Linsfort Barney who had already some good outings inhand. |

| El Larry is Elite Stallion And again we are happy about a special award for one of our stallions! El Larry was awarded now for the excellent quality of his offspring by the Bavarian Breeding Association for Pony and Special Breeds the Elite Stallion title. His licensed stallion sons Sternbergs Larry Junior in Denmark and Shanna Larry in Ireland, his daughters Siss and Sternbergs Lady Lee awarded with the States Premium, his numerous Premium and Gold Premium foals and many more successful ponies in the country and abroad brought him the required number of points. El Larry had repeatedly made aware by his descendants upon themselves, he was best Sire of our. Breeding Association in 2008 and in 2010 and was also regularly Sire of Champion or Reserve Champion Families. In addition to all of these outstanding breeding successes is our El Larry for us but in the main, what character and rideability properties just as stamps on. All our El Larry descendants convince us through a friendly and cooperative character and when ridden through excellent balance and tact while they learn at the same time quickly and have excellent active movements. We are very grateful to have such a stallion in our stud and hope for many more healthy years with our "piece of gold"! |

| Sternbergs Silver Sam new licensed
Class I Stallion At the Bavarian Pony Stallion Inspection on 9th october 2011 in Munich we showed our homebred 2,5 years old colt Sternbergs Silver Sam for inspection and he convinced the judges with his true type, the outstanding jumping ability and good substance and topline with good active movements and got licensed as Class I Stallion. We are especially happy that twe could offer the interesting bloodline combination this way also to other breeders. Silver Sam's Sire Clifden Silver is shown successfully in showjumping and eventing in Switzerland and has with Coosheen Thyme, Boden Park Finnard, Mervyn Kingsmill, and many more the Who-is-Who of the irish Show and Performance bloodlines in his pedigree. Combined with his dam's pedigree, who comes out of the leading bloodlines for sports and showing in our area and is also a top class broodmare (her daughter Sternbergs Malena got the only States Premium Candidate mare title given this year in Bavaria and was Best in Race and Best Native Sportpony at the Landesshow in 2011) Silver Sam will be a wonderful opportunity for breeders who want to combine type and best riding ability in their Connemara offspring. | Performance test for mares in Ansbach
5th september 2011 At the Performance Test for mares in Ansbach we showed two of our broodmares, Renate vom Donaumoos (Dolomit x StPrSt Rickie by Ladylover) and Sternbergs Lady Lee (El Larry x PrSt Lilian by Lorenzo). Both mares did not only pass the test with good grades, but were also Winner and Reserve Winner of her test and had the best grades of all pony mares shown in Ansbach! Our mares are always shown by ourselfes and without any additional professional training, so we were really proud about their top grades for riding ability, Renate got an 8 from the test rider and Lady Lee even got an 8,5 - no other horse shown this day got a higher grade! Renate is now Premium mare, Sternbergs Lady Lee States Premium mare. |

| Inspection in Denmark: Also in Denmark the Sternbergs Ponies were again very successful this weekend: Sternbergs Marvin (EH Skousboe Morning Rock x Renate) got his final licensing for life, in Denmark stallions are shown at 2, 3 and 4 years age and only at four years and older they can get the final license. He was also shown in the riding class and placed third there. Furthermore Langtoftegards Blue Pear, a filly by Sternbergs Larry Jr was placed first from the foals, got a First Premium and was Championfoal. His owners, Langtoftegard Stud in Denmark, are very confident with the high quality of Juniors foals and we congratulate them to their nice success! |

| Sternbergs Malena Winner at
Landesponyshow Munich On 18th june 2011 Sternbergs Malena (Elite Stallion Skousboe Morning Rock x Premium mare Maike) was invited to the Bavarian Landesponyshow 2011 in Munich. Malena did not only win her class and got the States Premium Candidate mare title, but in the endring of the best Sport Ponies she also got a special Award for the Best "Native Sportpony". And to top that she was so very well behaved at her first show ever - she went in the morning into the trailer (first time ever) as if she ever had done it and the whole day she did never put a foot wrong. We love this combination of type, movements and a wonderful character! Shanna Jane (Heather's Dino x Skousboe Shamrock) placed second best of the Connemara mares and is now a Premium Candidate mare. |

El Larry again best Sire
of the Bavarian Breeding
Association in 2010 El Larry was already in the year 2008 the best Sire of Connemara stallions of the Bavarian breeding Association for special horse breeds and ponies and only missed the title in 2009 with few 0.04 rating points. this year he was again the leader of the statistics for 2010 and this even with three tenths points distance to the two second placed stallions, one of them to our delight our Stallion Arda's Murphy. Even under the highest scored foals one of our foals was the best, Sternbergs Maqddox a son of the first german foal crop of our Murphy was best foal with a Score of 8,5. Two El Larry foals, Sternbergs Liara ex StPrSt Lena and an El Larry colt foal bred by Penancing Brook Stud shared the second place with a score of 8,3. Three of four foals on the third place were again sired by El Larry, Sternbergs Liam and Sternbergs Fee from our breeding, a foal from the breeding of Dr. Roosen, all got a Score of 8,3. On total 32 Connemara foals were registered by our breeding Association foals, of the seven highest scored foals six were sired by our Stallions! In the newly inspected mares our mare also achieved an excellent result, Sternbergs Mandy is among the five best Mares of all races who have been newly inspected in 2010. Last year her sister Sternbergs Lady Lee had taken the top spot of over 340 newly registered mares here. | Murphy
at FN Championship for stallions Our stallion Arda's Murphy has started the show season this year very early. Only selected stallions were allowed from 20-23. January 2011 at the 3rd FN Sportspony Championship for Stallions at the big agricultural fair "Grüne Woche" in Berlin. Murphy took part after over 450 km of transport in the loosejumping where he achieved an 1h price, the ridden test and of course the show - how it should be for a versatile Connemara pony - and has made many new experiences there. |

States Premium mare Lena We are very happy that the mare Lena which we had already leased since july 2008 from Stud Donamumoos, is now our own mare. Lena is a very successful broodmare. She was herself successful at shows, was Best in Race and Reserve Champion mare of prestigious Landesponyshow in 1995, furthermore she is mother of two licensed stallions. Her son Leonardo I is one of only two States Premium awarded stallions in Germany, is south german licensed and has passed his Stallion Performance test with the excellent result 8,3. He is sire of a licensed stallion son and also sire of several States Premium mares and Candidates, besides them our outstanding mover Lousianna. Both sons of Lena are shown successfully in competiotions, both dressage and jumping. Lena has gifted us last year an oustanding dun filly foal by El Larry, the Gold Premium awarded Sternbergs Liara and is again in foal by El Larry. We think that these "Grand Old Ladies" really deserve their place for life and so we are pleased that Lena may stay with us and certainly we hope that she will give us a few more of her wonderful foals. |

| Skousboe Morning Rock is Elite
Stallion This year we had a very special surproise for christmas - our stallion Skousboe Morning Rock was announced as Elite Stallion from the Bavarian Breeding Association! Rocky was not only himself very successful at shows with Supreme Championships in Denmark, Germany and Ireland, also his offspring has prooved his quality as a Sire. He has now six licensed stallion sons and many high awarded foals and certainly we hope for many more to come. |
